11 Day Cloudforest and Caribbean Islands
Discover the perfect blend of history, nature, and paradise in one of Central America’s best-kept secrets. Combining cosmopolitan Panama City, the remote island gem Isla Bastimentos, the country’s largest volcano, Caribbean splendor, and more, this enchanting adventure will connect you with a country that, once visited, you’ll want to keep to yourself.

We start in Panama City, the cosmopolitan capital that is both a gateway to Panama’s splendid natural spaces and a destination in its own right. Through privately guided tours, you’ll develop an appreciation for the engineering marvel that is the Panama Canal and the historical forces that shaped the city from its colonial heart: charming Casco Viejo.

Next, head west to Boquete and deep into Panama’s wilderness for an exhilarating selection of adventures that showcase the beauty of the fabled Chiriquí Highlands. First, greet Baru Volcano – Panama’s largest – on a full-day tour that begins with one of the most impressive sunrises you’ll ever see, then navigate the rapids of Rio Chiriqui Viejo on a novice-friendly whitewater-rafting adventure through dense jungle.

Later, leave the mountains behind and set out for the shores of the Caribbean for some well-earned rest and relaxation at picture-perfect Isla Bastimentos. Once visited by Christopher Columbus himself in 1502, this idyllic island paradise boasts hiking trails, mangrove forests, and – perhaps most importantly – white-sand beaches.

Kensington Tours creates private trips from the world’s finest ingredients. Tailor-made with care by your personal Destination Expert, your personalized trip is always a one-of-a-kind experience made just for you. Expert local guidance and 24/7 service come standard.

Next, head to Casco Viejo, dating back to the XVII century, and listen to your guide describe the events that led up to the establishment of the capital in its current location. Here, take in the lovely colonial houses, picturesque narrow roads, and impressive churches as you make your way to the French Plaza. Your day continues as you transfer to the Miraflores Locks on Panama Canal, where large ships can be seen as they make their way through the canal. Marvel at this feat of human engineering and see informative exhibits. Now that you've worked up your appetite, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before venturing out to visit small towns surrounding the canal. Day6 - Boquete

Established by Tollef B. Mönniche in 1922, purchased by Alfred Collins in 1957, and developed and currently operated by members of the Collins family, Finca Lerida is one of Boquete' oldest and most traditional Coffee Estates. Located in the Highlands of Boquete, at an altitude of 5,500 feet, on the foothills of the Baru Volcano, with its deep rich volcanic soil, this beautiful and traditional coffee estate offers optimum conditions for growing premium mountain coffee. The ample rainfall and sunny, dry harvesting season promotes ideal production of this Arabica. Mr. Mönniche designed and constructed the first 'beneficio', processing plant, functioning with water and by gravity, and designed and patented a coffee siphon which would be used in 'beneficios' throughout Central America and other countries in the world. Lerida´s owner guided coffee tour takes you from the plantation through the process, roasting and brewing, finishing with a cupping session.
